Tags for Gift-Bags!

Made these folded and flat tags with SCRAPS! I am so excited! :)

A lot of it is from the Cloud 9 Designs "Chocolate Chalet" SBCH February Kit. Link: http://www.scrapbookersclubhouse.com/oscommerce/catalog/index.php?cPath=65&osCsid=c68472c8632c799019bec6a22d66cf08

What a generous Kit! You know, I STILL have some left and will be using up EVERY last BIT of it!! It's sooo gorgeous. I especially loved the striped paper.... LOL, me and my stripes... You will ADORE this kit.

The tags each have eyelets so they can be attached to gift bags with ribbon or raffia.

I did a LOT of doodling on these. What a beautiful effect.

That doodling was actually all done with the January SBCH Kit's white Signo Uniball Pen http://www.scrapbookersclubhouse.com/oscommerce/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=1&products_id=4386 and with a black American Crafts Slickwriter I got at SBCH. http://www.scrapbookersclubhouse.com/oscommerce/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=24&products_id=3897

Thanks for checking out the newest of my creations!

The "Chocolate Chalet" at Scrapbooker's Club House!

An original project created with the awesome SBCH February kit "Chocolate Chalet" by Cloud 9 Designs. This is a totally yummy kit!
Here's the scoop on the project above...It's my newly created prototype of the "Weekly Menu Planner."
So exciting to be able to share it with you all!
My recipes for the week are clipped behind the write-on wipe-off surface area which was done with a transparency.
The recipes can be changed from week-to-week as can the written notes and the changing menu plan.
The days of the week remain static, so they are posted/adhered behind the transparency.
The top portion acts as a "folder." It's actually a repurposed cover from an old (unused) day-planner that was out of date. I sanded it to make the patt. paper adhere easily.
The recipes clipped inside the folder are 8 1/2 x11" sheets printed out from my own word-document recipe files. They're recipes that our entire family agrees upon (likes) and ones that we can use so that we ALL eat the same meal, with the exception of Noah (who is on a wheat and milk-free regime).
Every week will be a bit different to prevent boredom.
JUST LOVE the bright, cheerful and pretty February kit! (This is an original project idea. Hope you like it!)

Sneak Peeks are coming!!!!

The sneak peeks of the awesome Scrapbooker's Club House February Kit are due on the 15th of January! Stay tuned!

Yipppeee! There's some great stuff being unveiled, all made with this truly awesome kit.

"Present"

Over on Scrapbooker's Club House a discussion was started having to do with choosing a word for 2008 (Ali Edwards talks about this in her blog. Link and her info on this challenge from 2007 is here: http://aliedwards.typepad.com/_a_/aezine_challenges/index.html ).

Here's the link to the SBCH discussions about the word each person chose for this new year, 2008...http://www.scrapbookersclubhouse.com/forum/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=88654#88654

and here is my response...

I have decided that this year, my word is the verb "present. "

WHY?

I want to be PRESENT, here, awake, really seeing and feeling everything that comes my way, weeding thru the quadrillion distractions to pinpoint the truly important things. I want to be present, to write everything down, take pictures of it, and later, feel it all over again... never forget it.

I want to take advantage of the intense focus & creativity that come to me when I am truly "present," undistracted, listening with my eyes, ears and heart.

Tall order.

But...moored in the good, safe harbour of the here and now, my heart feels always able to hope, has less fear of an uncertain future, is more able to "be" present and to share.

I want to be that open, that PRESENT... see all with fresh eyes, feel with an open mind & spirit, and always take advantage of the love and safety that I have been so blessed with.

I want to be PRESENT; nestled and roosted in a safe place- but present.

Present: That's my word for 2008.

Six Years on the Planet

Here's my creation in response to the awesome ad inspiration challenge that Cristin posted for us over at Scrapbooker's Club House. Here's where you can take part!~ http://www.scrapbookersclubhouse.com/forum/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=6384&start=0

The journaling reads as follows:
Six Years on the Planet
Six years with us, Daniel; time zooming by like the blur of a speeding meteorite! You’re our resident scientific expert on all things planet-related. You pore over books, study websites. You draw the solar system and ask Mom to make mobiles of the planets with you. You burst out with scientific trivia connected to moons, having a bearing on shooting stars, or relevant to the Milky Way. You are the authority on atmospheric types and planet nicknames. Space travel is a dream of yours… you long for a telescope to “play with” and you amaze friends with your endless vista of space-knowledge.

You go through life with the aid of your zoom-powered rocket boosters. At least I think you do… how ELSE could you move so quickly?

And “quick” you are: Quick to gain new knowledge and quick to share it with us. Quick to ask questions, quick to make us think. No wonder the time passed with such velocity! Boy, was it QUICK!!!!
