Sketch #12-12 is up over at S: CY!

I created a new 12x 12" layout Sketch and the Design Team over at Sketches: Creatively Yours had a blast with it!
 Here's the Sketch:

Sketch #12-12

 by Yours Truly
My layout was one featuring Argo, Noah's Autism Assistance Dog Guide:
"DAWG: Doggone Cute"
created using Sketch #12-12
 Sketches: Creatively Yours
Here is the journaling: "This is our sweet Argo in photos taken shortly after he arrived home in December 2010 as Noah’s Autism Assistance Dog Guide. He’s such a BEAUTIFUL BOY!  Just look at that face! In the photo above, he is wearing his Lions Foundation of Canada red bandanna. We bought it for him at the LFC Dog Guides’ store when we were there training with our amazing AADG. Bless his heart!" Photos: all late December 2010
Thanks for peeking everyone.  Be sure to check out the awesome work by our Guest Designer Deanne Clarke-Saunders and the Design Team over at Sketches: Creatively Yours.
Have a great week everyone~!

FUNDRAISER for MS Treatment...

50- Handmade Card Basket
that will be taken home by a lucky donor

MS TREATMENT FOR ALI

The Multiple Sclerosis (MS) that I live with on a daily basis has become aggressive, and it’s not responding at all to any conventional therapy.  Pete and I have had to make decisions with regard to treatment and have chosen to seek out what has been coined the “Liberation Therapy” (CCSVI Treatment).
Because Health Canada **does not** offer this treatment to citizens with Multiple Sclerosis, we must travel to Albany Medical Centre in NY to access the expertise found there.  Although “studies” are being done in Canada, the wheels turn VERY slowly & I can’t afford to wait… too many people depend on me. I need to be well, and Liberation Therapy offers me the best chance of a positive outcome.
My appointment in NY is set for May 31, 2012.  My assessment and treatment will be done by a medical team that has been performing CCSVI assessment and treatment the longest in North America.
This trip and treatment will cost Pete and me close to $10,000.00. It’s an impossibly huge amount for a family with 4 children, one of whom has profound special needs. Many of you have asked how you can help out with the cost of the trip to NY and the MS treatment. Thank You so much for asking…
You all know of my passion for the creative artwork related to cardmaking. I am not very mobile, but in my stubbornness, I wanted to help out in earning the funds for this trip as much as I could. So…in order to “do my part” and work toward earning what we need to make this MS treatment attainable, I designed & created 50 unique handmade cards and placed them in a BIG basket. On May 25th, a lucky “someone” will take home this unique card selection!! The cards cover every occasion!
HOW TO PARTICIPATE and HELP:

For a donation of $2.00, I will place your name on one slip and add it to all the donor slips. If you donate $5.00, your name will go on three slips.
You can donate as many times as you like to have your name placed on more slips.
(The same system applies: $2 donation= 1 slip;   $5 donation= 3 slips.) Cheque or cash is fine. J
Yes! My long distance friends can participate as well.
It’s easy…
1)     You can snailmail a donation by chq and I can email you a scan of your slip(s) for the correct amount.  Mailing address is available, just ask me. (peteali@eastlink.ca)
2)     You can make a deposit to Scotiabank, where we have a Trust Account set up. I will email you the account number if you need it. Just ask! (I would then just need to know the donation amount so we can make out the right number of tickets [slips!] in your name for the draw.)
3)     Electronic funds transfer (“email money transfer’) also works within Canada, if you prefer this method. Many people have chosen this method of donating. Our email is peteali@eastlink.ca  (This is needed in cases of EFT.)
IN ANY OF THESE SCENARIOS, we’ll send you a scan of the correct number of “slips” in exchange for your donation so you can see that it was followed thru and you were entered into the Card Basket Draw!
On May 25th, someone’s slip will be randomly chosen to take home these beautiful cards!
Thank You from the bottom of my heart for considering making a donation to help defray the costs of my trip to NY and the “Liberation Therapy” I will receive while there.
It is appreciated more than you could ever know.

Two new LOs

Some more horse layouts... lately they are my favourite thing to do...This one features the exceptional work of Danique Rowsell (Century Classic Photography).
"Love"
Kate & Grace March 2011

"Kate's Feed Bag"
Hobby Horse Farm June 2011
This is a funny one. Look at the pics from left to right...
Here's the journaling-
Kate was diagnosed in 2010 with hypoglycemia. She knew that managing it was really important during riding where there was a lot of exertion and energy used up in the events. For the schooling show at Hobby Horse Farm, Kate had brought along a large green grocery bag of healthy foods to snack on to keep her blood sugar level. I laughingly called it “Kate’s Feed Bag.”

Anyway, Grace obviously smelled something yummy because she stuffed her nose right into the bag! I think she smelled the grapes or granola bars that Kate had stashed in there as snacks. I was lucky enough to catch this whole thing on camera. You can just “see” Grace thinking about it before she put her nose right into the bag!!  It was the humorous highlight of the day. “Crazy horse, get your nose out of Kate’s feedbag!!”  ~ June 2011

BIG Thanks for popping by, everyone! Hope you liked these!

Some of my "SIMPLES"

Lain Ehmann, in a recent post at Layout A Day (her LOAD blog) asked for some of readers' simple scrapbooking tips.
I replied with the following...
** Clear, plain font for journaling
** Short title and subtitle
** Rule of threes for embellies

** Use the visual triangle concept
** RECYCLE and use up scraps!
** Try using a strip of smthg: ribbon, pp (could even be a scalloped strip!)
OK...What are some of YOUR simple scrapbooking tips?
