TOTAL: 24!

Well everyone, my total number of pages in the September 2013 informal Layout A Day (LOAD) that I set for myself was TWENTY FOUR!! YAY-- 24 pages!! Lots of photos scrapped and at least 24 stories told! :)

I even got NINE of the boys' CLASS GROUP PHOTOS scrapbooked! Those were the last ones I needed to do up. Wahoo! Then I sorted out the remaining school pics and got them all into nice envelopes. :) THAT was quite an accomplishment. Just need to decide where to store the left-overs and we'll be DONE with the school pics til this years' come in!

Obviously I didn't get the chance to post each of my 24 September layouts for you to see here on the BLOG but I am hoping that I will get them posted for you within the next few days. Will do my best!

I made abut 19 pages kits to "have prepped" for the October more "official"  LOAD, too. I mainly:
1) Wrote the journaling and typed it out (I find this slows me down, and when it is done ahead of time, I can just FLY!)
2) Chose my patterned papers (lots of scraps too!) and CS
3) Trimmed photos (I always have several photos on a layout)
4) Gathered any ephemera that needed to be saved on the page
4) Put everything a BIG Ziplock bag

Then I piled them all up, ready to use! Some fun new pages are on the roster for October LOAD!

Have a great evening.

LOAD-09: DAY 1

Here's the LOAD-09: Day 1 layout... remember, this was before we got the kids their BIG (15ft) pool. It got set up a couple of weeks later. This was a HOT day--  we filled the tiny pool with water so Noah could cool off. What ensued was layout worthy! LOL So cute and funny...enjoy!

(I used colour scheme #3.)
Journaling:
For some odd reason, Argo thought  the pattern on the bottom of the tiny pool was "real." He kept trying to "chase" it by walking around & around in the water and sticking his nose in! It was a rather comical situation!  The photos don't do it  justice, but it was 100% hilarious to see Argo hop in the water right beside Noah and work soooo hard at "catching" the intriguing pattern printed on the bottom!!!

A Challenge for September!

Over at ScrapHappy, there are a few of us doing a LOAD ("Layout A Day") Challenge for the month of September.

Just for blogging purposes, I am calling it "LOAD-09"

We do have a ScrapHappy member-generated LOAD coming in October, but some of us wanted to start early and get into the groove. :)

So, we are!

Excited to see what we all come up with... I am going to try to blend Whimsical Musings challenges with the daily LOAD-09 prompts from the ScrapHappy 09-LOAD group. The girls are using the iphone LOAD App that Lain started to post the daily LOAD-09 prompt.

I know there are more Argo an Noah pool fun pics, for sure! Keep an eye out- I'll be posting them!

A Summery Layout

As you probably know I've been playing along with  prompts from the Whimsical Musings blog. Just love it! They have a "weekly scrapbooking challenge with an inspirational twist" as the blog header says.

It's really fun because you can look back at the Past Whimsical Musings Prompts over at WM and have fun fulfilling them with a layout or other project.

Why not make it YOUR project to fulfill some of the former WM prompts?? it will definitely help you get pages done!

There is a contest going on over at Whimsical Musings right now with some great prizes- be sure to enter, just by creating a layout for the 100 celebration OR for a past prompt. :)

I created a summer fun layout using the July 2013 sketch by Lain Ehmann (over at the ScrapHappy community) to meet the requirements for Whimsical Musings Challenge #26-- I used a different Sketch than suggested in the WM prompt, but it was inspiring just the same!

This one was a stash-buster!!!!
All the paper used is My Mind's Eye. Have lots of MME paper in my stash!
The cardstock and inks were from CTMH.
Flower was cut from CTMH patterned paper

Hope you enjoyed this fun summer LO... head on over to Whimsical Musings to get your scrap on!! See you there!
