AHSC Sketch #187

Good day everyone!

Hope you are gearing up for another amazing week! Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge has a beautiful new sketch up for you to play with this week, so why not join in?

Here it is:
AHSC Sketch #187
created by Michelle Stewart
(Digitized by Brandi Robinson)
I created  a couple of cards with this sketch but the CTMH 'Sparkle and Shine' paper collection with its beautiful shimmer doesn't capture well in photos. One of the cards I created does give a fairly good impression and you can discern the overall 'look' of the card, if not every BIT of the shimmery shine!
Here you go!
 Card created by Yours Truly
using AHSC Sketch #187
I used CTMH papers from the "Sparkle and Shine" collection for this card. The cardstock used is Ruby. I added an angel from my stash and a lovely single pointsettia flower that I found hidden away. It already had a pearl centre-- so pretty!
Some CTMH shimmer trim in Aqua  and a silver "Playful Puffie" flower helped complete the look. :) The greeting that I used is a brand new mini stamp set from CTMH (M1148). I think the "Merry Christmas" looks perfect on the Slate cardstock. Kind of a pretty, classic greeting- I love it.

I have three more cards to finish that are along the same lines as this one. Each is a teensy bit different though. I just can't make the same card twice! LOL For those cards, I used the more classic side of the Christmas paper.

I really hope you like the card and can come play along at AHSC this week! Here are the guidelines for joining in

 Seen you soon!

Christmas Cards All Year 'Round!!

I'm on the Design Team at "Christmas Cards All Year 'Round"  and it's so much fun! This month, our assignment was to create a card or project that included Santa Claus or an elf!!

OK,  how fun is that!? I love Deanne's challenges at CCAYR. She is our leader and owner of the blog, and she always sets up such great challenges!

I am first and foremost a scrapbooker, and since ALL types of Christmas projects are encouraged on the CCAYR blog, I'd wanted to create a layout that had Santa on it. Darn it, though, time got away from me a bit!! As an alternative, I created a four new cards instead, all similar in design to the Christmas card below:
"Merry Christmas" card
created for the November 2016 CCAYR challenge
This card features almost entirely CTMH products.

The patterned papers came from the new "City Sidewalks" collection, and the decorative zip strip on the left side of the card also came from this paper collection. :)

The cardstock is Sapphire. What a gorgeous blue!!

I used a stamp set which is a retired Stamp of the Month set from August 2015 called "Framed" (S1508). I've used it a lot as it's so versatile!

CTMH water-based dye inks used are:  Cranberry and Indian Corn Blue (retired).

The sparkly blue dots are from CTMH as well: part of a package of Enamel and Glitter Duos.

I decorated the strip on the left with  "Diamond" Stickles from Ranger. Sure wish you could see the shimmer!

The sweet Santa Claus you see here is a royalty free image from The Graphics Fairy

Hope you've enjoyed this card! I made 3 others that are similar-- but each has it's own "look". I am so happy with the way they turned out. Four more cards all made for this Christmas!  Awesome!

Are YOU getting in the Christmas spirit? Why not harness that feeling and try the November CCAYR "Santa or elf" challenge? There are prizes to be won! Guidelines to enter the CCAYR challenge can be found HEREWe'd sure love to see you!

Thanks for popping by!! Until next time- Happy scrappin'!

AHSC Sketch #185

Things have been a li'l crazy around here, but I managed to get a card made with this wonderful sketch from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.
 Here is the new sketch:

 Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge
Sketch #185 created by Michelle Stewart
 (Digitized by Chris Lothian)

I have created  something that could be used as a classy anniversary or wedding card. I decided to use something "iconic" as an embellishment rather than having a sentiment on the front. This way, I could add the sentiment on the inside when the need for a card came up. As you can see, I chose to use three puffy hearts on the front of the card.

Card created with AHSC Sketch #185
I'm really happy with the way this card turned out!!

was able to use up some snazzy gold Bazzil cardstock and a small piece of CTMH's Laughing Lola collection patterned paper for the card itself. I used a piece of gold shimmer trim, some gold heart-shaped Treasured Puffies (both from CTMH), and  some black and gold lace from my stash to accent the card. The red circle was punched from patterned paper I'd saved/hoarded from an old (2004?) scrapbooking calendar. The gold circle framing the red was from a set of "Irresistibles" frames (CTMH) and I used some gold "Smooch" ink (Clearsnap) on the white frame to give it the golden colour I needed.

You can't see it, but inside the card is a small  glittery gold heart from the CTMH Fundamental Assortment. (I just loved this beautiful Assortment and I bought it in too many colours to count!!)

Hope you enjoyed this card. I had fun using the AHSC sketch to make it!

Please feel free to try the sketch and link up your creation so we can see it too.
The guidelines for entering the AHSC Challenge are really simple. You can check them out HERE.
