Crystal Tree

Here's a new LO that I did last night after the kids were asleep. I played with Provocraft's coloured MicroBeadz. Love them! Sorry you can't see the delicate beads in the pic, they are so tiny, delicate and PRETTY! Easy to work withg too...LOVE this hobby! It gives me the bvest of every craft and tons of fun supplies to PLAY with! !

"Crystal Tree"

This delicate Christmas tree was created from a kit we bought from Scholastic Book Club for the kids during the holiday season. The tree was made from cardboard, and was set in a little shallow dish, and decorated with a star and beaded “garland.” A special solution was mixed and poured into the bottom of the dish, then the tree “grew” bright green crystals over a period of a few hours. It was amazing to watch. Kate thought the little tree was pretty topped off with the gold star! The boys were transfixed with the way their miniature tree “grew.” ~December 2005

This photo was taken by Wing Imaging in October 2000, when Peter was honoured with the 14 Wing ‘Technician of the Quarter Award.’ In the photo, he was working in the lab, repairing a radar antenna from the CP-140 Aurora search aircraft.

When someone asked him what his Daddy’s job was, Daniel always replied “He’s a fixer!!”

This is our Daniel Cole at age 4 1/2 yrs old in a Christmas vest from Avon that I actually found & bought at Frenchy's! As of 2006, ALL our boys have worn it. Font is Sizzlit: Nouveau. Fir green CS: Bazzill, Red CS: Bazzill. Tree and star PP's: unknown, small dotted PP: Forever in Time (6x6" pad of soft greens, item #SP-200E, Multicrafts Imports). Thread is a dk fir tree green, Guterman: #794, Swirls: Li'l Davis Designs Stripped Chip (heart doodles), Acrylic paint for doodles is Plaid brand #ZD200-41 in Hunter green.

Christmas Time at our house

This is a page I created just to show a few highlights of Christmas 2005. It's so much brighter and clearer, and has more "punch" in real life.

Cinnamon Buns were made with Marla C. "Flylady's" recipe, served on my Grammie's Rosecliffe Alfred Meakin platter. We make those every year now.

Noah has a red dot on his nose (That's from preschool: a cute reindeer nose!)

Santa hats are fun treats given to the kids by Oma and Opa years ago.

Daddy made the gingerbread house with the kids this year. It's our first one!

The 2 wooden reindeer in the pic on the journaling block were made by my Dad. Red reindeer was made by my sis-in-law Patricia. Thank you!

My Favourite Toys

Here is a page all about Noah's favourite toys. It lists the following favourites:

"All about Me" Bulletin Board Display

Rainbow

This is Daniel with one of his Play-Doh creations in October 2005.

He created the picture and spelled "rainbow" all by himself. He was so proud! Heck, WE were so proud!!

Willie Nelson

The page posted below is of "Willie Nelson," one of my parents' cats. Story used as journaling was taken from an email my Mom sent in March, 2006. The pics were taken on Dec 25, 2005 at my sister Mary's home, and the page was a challenge I did as part of a fun crop for Scrapbooker's Clubhouse.

Journaling: "Willy sang the other night! A wild cat who has been around here this winter walked by the door just at sundown. Willy stood by the piano and howled for 15 minutes. He has about a three-octave range and his sides went in and out like a piper's bag. I was alone in the house and just sat and watched him, laughing. At one point he went “Yow yow yow” in about high C. I guess he really is a Willie Nelson after all."

Title Letters: Sticko, red dot lettering (I painted over them before removal from sticker sheet with with FolkArt Plaid acrylic paint in # 635 Fucshia. Made the horrible orangey-red shiny unusable letters usable, textured and cool!

"W" turned sideways as part of the challenge- we had to turn the first letter 90 degrees!)

Our Wreath Creation
I was so excited to see the beautiful pine wreath that Bryan made at Cubs! When he brought it home, we decorated it with gorgeous acrylic stars and cherubs. Kate helped me choose some rich-looking navy blue and sparkling silver ribbon. Everything came from the Dollar Store but it looked exceptional! We hung our creation from a shiny brass hook that Daddy installed on the front door of our home. Our wreath looked just beautiful and was quite eye-catching! We received many compliments on it throughout the Christmas season.
