A Summer's Day '06

This was done for another awesome challenge at SBCH! We were to use DIFFERENT sized pix than 4x6, 5x7, etc... smaller or larger but not standard. Link: http://www.scrapbookersclubhouse.com/forum/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=7627&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=15

I decided to do this last night, and git 'er dun, since it's been sitting on my work area for 4 months, since before my just-completed SBCH DT term, asking to be finished. AND: it's DONE! LOL!

My pix are all trimmed equally to 3.5x3" and there are 3 of them.

I also scallop punched their corners for interest.

Thanks to my sister Mary and BIL, Gil for the fun days spent in their pool just across the court from us. Our 4 kids adored it and were fortunate enough to have a safe, private place to learn to swim and dive.

Here are me and Noah swimming. Noah has his lifejacket on. I have my straw hat firmly planted on my head as I burn pretty easily with such fine hair!
Hope you like this Layout!

Katie-baby... 2 months old...

This LO was done for a challenge over at Scrapbooker's Club House. Here's the link to that VERY fun dare! http://www.scrapbookersclubhouse.com/forum/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=7592 Why not take it on? Please be sure to come on over to the Club House and share your creations. We are SUCH a friendly bunch.

JOURNALING:

Kate, you are only 2 months old here, but what a SWEET little baby photo!

Simply Adorable.

This photo was taken in Grand Centre, Alberta. It was near Easter time and one of the “props” they had were these funny “bunny ears!”

Even though “photo-props” are not my “thing,” Daddy and I couldn’t leave any poses behind, and ordered some of every one. We were so proud of our first baby, little sweetheart that you were!

What a doll! The outfit you’re wearing was a gift from my friend Heather, whom I had worked with at Bonnyville Health Centre, where you were born.

Tremont World's Fair

Journaling reads~

Tremont World’s Fair ‘07

"We live in a very small, sweet place. One of the tiny communities nearby has a Fair every August. It has been affectionately dubbed the "Tremont World's Fair". There is a lot of response to the horse show portion. Both English and Western styles are represented in different classes. Kate rides English. This is our pony, "Oakley" 2 months before we bought her for the kids. Kate was leasing her at the time thru a work exchange with weekend chores at the barn. Oakley is a haflinger-quarter horse with the chestnut colouring and flaxen mane & tail so typical of the haflingers. She is bombproof and steady as a rock, only 5 years old. Actually our vet told us we had lucked into a wonderful "investment" (huh?? An investment??) with Oakley as a lot of ponies can be "bums" (haha) and are very stubborn and hard to train... she is/was not. Her Mom was Haflinger; a barrell racer. Oakley had been ridden Western style before Kate leased her. She acclimatized to the pace of English style riding with no problems. We have a wonderful pony and we ALL love her, but especially Kate. She and Kate pulled off a "First Place" this day, in one of the English Show Jumping categories. This was with the tractor pulls and bullock pulls going on in the next paddock on the hill! Some of the ponies and bigger horses had a FIT! Oakley and Kate had SO MUCH fun at this show...!!"

** THANKS FOR LOOKING! I REALLY APPRECIATE IT!

Leave me a quick note/comment to let me know you were here!

I'd LOVE that.... Easy-peasy!

Two Anniversary cards!

My parents, Cari and Roy, and my middle sister, Mary and my BIL Gil, are couples who recently celebrated Anniversaries. Actually, their anniversaries are in early April, on the same day!

Here are the two cards I sent. The silvery gray card with Prima Whisper flower was made for a challenge to use dry embossing on a project. Mom & Dad gave me my very cool dry embossing set a few years ago (the Shape Boss") and so that was a perfect thing to use on THEIR anniversary card! The card I did for Mary and Gil was made for a red and black challenge.
TY for looking! Hope you liked them!

A "Thanks" Card~

Hope you like it!~

Cheap Luxury

Journaling reads: Flowers are so uplifting! Inside or outdoors, potted or in a vase, I love them all. I like to treat us to a flowering plant for the dining room table every 3 or 4 months. Flowers just brighten the entire place! It makes me feel like a million bucks to have a colourful centerpiece to enjoy. A potted chrysanthemum for about $7.00… that’s what I always call a “pretty cheap luxury!”
