A Challenge!

These LO's were done in response to a challenge by Laura over at Scrapbooker's Club House: to use a sketch by none other than the awesome sketch artist, Valerie Salmon in creating a page.

I actually did TWO layouts!~ LOL~ I like them both! the red one is of my sister Xandi and her boyfriend Cody (now fiance) taking his sisters and our 3 oldest kids on an outing to the Zoo in 2006.

The other page is of Bryan's 11th Birthday. His Oreo DQ cake makes me drool!
Oh and PLEASE pardon the crinkle cotton dress, it is soooo comfy but she NEVER be worn for photos!
**Gasp!** heeheehee!! Honest to goodness it is the most comfortable thing I OWN!

Kate

Here is a LO I did based upon a sketch by Janelle Richmond. It is of Kate~ some of her self-portraits; age 14. I used patterned paper from the Basic Grey "Phoebe" Collection which is another of my faves. This layout didn't "need" much. Came together fast, got 4 photos scrapped and I love it! So did Kate! YAY!
TY Janelle for an excellent sketch!
Here's the link to Janelle's sketch over at the SBCH Celebrity Sketch Extravaganza : http://www.scrapbookersclubhouse.com/forum/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=8106&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0

Mentioning this again 'cause it's so GREAT!

Here's a pic of Noah yesterday PM after he got home from school. He was so intentional, so engaging, so ENGAGED with us- he was playing "Where is Noah?" and enjoying being rolled up in the comforter, being tickled and playing "Mommy is a Chicken" (Don't ask! LOL)

This layout was done in response to a challenge by Heather, on the Scrapbooker's Club House site... Here you go //www.scrapbookersclubhouse.com/forum/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=7652
Enjoy! I LOVED creating this page!
Journaling reads:
Pura Vida means “Good life.”
We have a “good life.””
We live in a place that is as close to heaven as one can get: The Annapolis Valley of Nova Scotia. We live in a small town where we have everything we need, and we don’t have to drive more than 2 hours to reach a city.
We live in a place where we can see apple trees in full bloom in Spring, then pick apples from the same trees in autumn.
We have a pony! We board her at a farm just up the road. We can hop in the van and go visit her after supper. Our four children all take riding lessons. The older kids can spend all day on a Saturday with her. In summer and fall, we can take her to shows like the Tremont Fair and the Lawrencetown Exhibition, places where every one of us can enjoy some aspect of small town life: visiting with the ox-pull families, or enjoying the fresh cut French fries.
We have 2 dogs and lots of room for them to run: almost an acre—yet we live in a subdivision! We know, and like, the neighbours on both sides of us.
We have trees in our yard, birds singing, nesting and hatching eggs in the shrubs in our front yard.
The sunsets are beautiful. We can see the stars at night.
Sigh: Pura Vida, indeed.
