My first layout at the crop !

The LO below is based upon a Sketch by "Moma" at "Moma's Scrap Sketches" created by Monika Martinson January 13, 2008 . Thank You Monika!

Here is a layout I did in response to a recycling challenge from Deanne. We were to use at least 2 items from around the house to embellish our card or layout. As I have been working on cards a LOT of the time lately, I decided to do a layout.

There are pictures of our son Noah during some of his early intensive intervention....one of the first times we fingerpainted. He was quite astounded at the texture! (Typical of some children with Autism Spectrum Disorder.) Oops: I just realized that I need to add 2006 down in a corner somewhere to date it.

The "R= RECYCLED" items are:

1- a puzzle piece altered with patterned paper from the Snips and Snails collection by 3 Bugs in a Rug (Thanks to Nic from SBCH)
2- pieces of brown chenille yarn, added to an old piece of brown braid (=earth for my flower)
3- 2 pces of saved sheer green ribbon to help mimic leaves... and
4- Also a leaf split in half- from an artificial Wal-Mart floral sprig- I saved it.

Thanks for looking!

Two cards ~

The turtle card (below) was made as a "Get well card..." I think it's cute... so did the gals over at Sisterhood of Scrap when I showed it to them! **grin**

Inside it says: "Well, THAT'S OKAY!!!"

The racer card (below) was made for a friend of Bryan's who was turning 13... made it an hour before Bry had to go to the party! He said the kiddo thought it was a "cool card!"

The funny part is that it is made with a salvaged "racer" motif-- I cut it off Noah's backpack WAY back in 2006 after I backed over it (oops) with the car and got undercoating ALL over it! That was so yucky... the backpack was not salvageable but I removed the parts that were.

Made a good card though!

Inside view~
The card is a money gift holder.

Thanks for looking! :O)

A NEAT Colour Challenge Site: TY Tanya!!

FIRST: I was on my Sisterhood of Scrap friend Tanya's blog today. It's really GREAT: I find her ideas and LOs/cards just gorgeous! Not to mention I love the way she reviews recipes and shows pics of them! Especially the Crock Pot recipes she tries! Thanks Tanya! Yummilicious... Check it out, you will not be disappointed... can you tell I LOVE food?

SECOND: Here is the link to Scrapmaster's Paradise Colour Combos [SPCC] which Tanya was using and creating with, and had linked to in several posts I was reading on her Blog. Loved what she had done with those challenges! MORE AWESOME INSPIRATION?? Looked like it! So I decided to check it out! WOW! It has contests, etc... and seems like lots of fun!

Here is a little blurb from SPCC that I copied & pasted (and I sure hope this is OK with you folks over at SPCC...). This so you can read and see what we should all be participating in! SUCH a blast, sounds like!! I am really going to try to add this to my repertoire! Can you tell I LOVE Colour Challenges?
What is SPCC?
SPCC stands for Scrapmaster's Paradise Color Combos. SPCC Challenges will be posted every Monday. Challenge submissions are due on the following Monday. A winner and SP Top Five will be posted the next Tuesday. AND did I mention each week, there will be amazing prizes to be won?? Each Friday, there will be a little extra fun challenge called Finally Friday. Up until Christmas, be on the lookout for just for fun Christmas color combos as well!!

Love to play- Noah & Daniel 2007

Guess what? Over at Sisterhood of Scrap Forum we have a Saturday Soup of the Day Challenge on! Deanne came up with a soup recipe and we are to follow it. I made two LOs and effectively made it out of a layout rut I had been in YAY! I called the 2 layouts "Love to Play" and made them in a way so that the pages could face one another in the album.

Here were the soup's main ingredients:

3 BRADS or EYELETS

Dash of STRIPED patterned paper AND

A sprinkle of GLITTER

Here are my pages! First is Noah (Spring 2007) and then Daniel (Dec 2007):

Thanks for looking- I had a tonne of fun creating these after making soooo many cards of late! By the way, these 2 pages look So much better in real life!

Here is another card I created for an order I needed to fill.
I used another Sketches by {tamara} sketch... this time, it was Sketch #98.

And here's another just-for-fun Christmas card!

"Be Merry" and the gift stamp are both Imaginisce Snag 'ems Stamps.

Aren't those mittens on the patterned paper CUTE?

So much Fun!

One thing that is probably the MOST fun about Scrapobooking is using things in "green" ways!

Here is one idea... today I created a card that reuses something pretty in a FUN and GREEN manner.

In the card below, I featured the silvery Christmas Tree that was originally a part of a dollar store notepad (ahem: Santa brought them to the kids in their Christmas Stockings...)!!

Once Daniel had filled his notepad with doodles, I recycled the paper, but didn't have the heart to throw out the awesome TREE IMAGE from the pad's front cover.

The tree was on a foil-like paper, so I cut it out, filed it in my Scraprack under "Christmas" & kept it for 2 years.

TODAY, I used it on a CARD! So happy to see it lookin' pretty!

The sentiment "Be Merry" was done w/ an Imaginisce acrylic stamp.
Stickles were used to make it all sparkle.
BasicGrey Romani collection scrap patt paper with medallions on it reminded me of Christmas decorations and added a pretty touch.
Red Cardstock: unkn.
Grey/cream CS: unkn.
Scalloped edge done with Threading Water punch by Fiskars
Ink: Khaki by Ink it Up!
This card was based upon a sketch by Tamara Wheeler. (Sketch #100 at the "Sketches by {tamara}" site at http://sketchesbytamara.blogspot.com/)

TY for looking.

Enjoy!!

Guess What?

I just had a chance to breathe ( first week of school) and I saw that I'm the "Eco-friendly Artist of the Week" over at Creatively Green Scrapbook Store!

Check it out... http://creativelygreen.ning.com/forum/topics/eco-friendly-artist-of-the-5

Nicole Gailliot, site owner, featured 2 special projects of mine. I am SO EXCITED!

A) a layout of Oma Agnes where I accented her photo with pieces of embroidered flowers I had cut from a turquoise skirt I had purchased at frenchy's ( 2006 pic my Dad-in-law took of Oma on her b'day)

and

B) an Idea Jar I had made with a 2007 kit from Scrapbooker's Club House! It repurposed a tall flavoured popcorn container (plastic) from Shopper's Drug Mart!

Thanks to Nicole G. for this honour!!

Hope you like them!
"Merry and Bright" image is from an acrylic stamp by Imaginisce.
Crooked tree is my own design.
Patt Papers: Figgy Pudding by Basic Grey.

"Happy HollyDays" acrylic stamp image on the card below is from Inkadinkado. Watercolour pencil crayons by Kimberly, purchased through Clear Dollar Stamps. Both green from Earth and Vintage Colors and the red from the Primary Colors packs were used here.
Whitegel pen: Uniball Signo from Scrapbooker's Club House. '

Santa was cut from 'used' Christmas wrapping paper.
" Santa's Coming" is a Karen Foster Rub- on image.
Christmas Red stickles.
Fiskars Threading Water punch.

"Be Merry" image is from an acrylic stamp by Imaginisce.
Candle & Holly leaves: CM Victorian Christmas Sticker Collection.

The white Santa card (above) card was done with the negative image left after an embossed sticker was removed from the backing paper. She uses the empty backing sheet from her letter stickers as an embellishment!)

The "music" cardstock used here was a tiny scrap. I was so excited when I found it!
