Family Stories

To my wonderful scrapbooking and nursing friends…
Here is a link from Care2.com about  “The Power of Telling Family Stories.

It focuses mainly on the idea of using storytelling as an activity/ life review with older adults/seniors (ahhh…working with seniors will always be near and dear to my heart), but I wanted all the scrapbookers in our midst to be able to enjoy it, thinking about it from the “scrapbooking angle,” too. So, am sending it out to you ALL!
It’s a fantastic article, and well worth a read.

Additionally,  here is an article called “Memory Keepers: Preserve Family Memories.” It’s also excellent, with many ideas! Too bad they didn’t mention PAPER scrapbooking, too! LOL My Goodness!

Enjoy! Thinking of you all….

Hi everyone!
This week over at Sketches: Creatively Yours, Senior Designer Ann has created a card sketch for us! The Design Team rocked it! Be sure to pop on over to the

And, here is my card creation. Because I have needed a lot of Thank you cards lately, that's what I made. :)
It's nice  being able to say "Thanks" to someone with a handmade card! This one has already been sent out.

More to come, as I just completed LO # 85 in 2012. So happy!
I am working on some layout sketches for my friend Elisha who is teaching scrapbooking classes, so as soon as those sketches are all done and sent, I'll be back!
Oh, and guess what? I spent the AM getting a menu for a little graduation "brunch" get-together all settled... had to decide on recipes, food and so on for a few guests the day after Kate's upcoming graduation from high school!  So exciting!

Have a great week!

Layouts galore! LOL

First, let's peek at  Sketch # 17-12 for S: CY. This was created by my close friend Ann Seleshanko. I just LOVE this Sketch!

My LO for the sketch  allowed me to use up dome photos that Noah's preschool teacher had taken of him at age 3. SO SWEET!

Notes: Loved using my Sizzix Sidekick and Sizzlits ("Nouveau" lettering collection) to create the title. All smaller pieces and strip were CTMH scraps. The blue "pacifica" CS is CTMH as well. Large piece of patterned paper is from CTMH's Zippidee Collection.

Font: "Simpson"
Printed in my fave- Indigo- size 16.
Noah enjoyed his time having fun and learning at Morphee Annex Nursery School. One day, the teacher served the class tiny kid-sized cones of ice cream. Noah made his Educational Assistant (Miss Heather) laugh when he tried to eat his ice cream cone… from the bottom up!!

And... I created a second page to go with this one. The photos show Bryan and Daniel at Upper Clements Park. Daddy took them and they had a great time!  I really wanted to scrap all the pics so this is what I came up with.
